Catching up on Cahaba Sun stories

By Gary Lloyd

TRUSSVILLE — Phew. It’s been a whirlwind the last few months.

There is now a two-month-old in our house, and I can’t believe that. What a fun time.

Here are my recent stories in the Cahaba Sun. Stay tuned for more in the coming months.

I wrote about the trees of Trussville, which was much more fun than I thought it could be.

I sat with a Hewitt-Trussville High School junior who has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award with a project on distracted driving.

I laughed louder than I should have in the children’s section of the Trussville Public Library with a retiring employee.

I wrote about how Trussville continues to grow like a weed.

I wrote about a brewery that is anchoring the biggest landscape change Trussville has likely ever seen.

I wrote about a senior center director who spent more than twenty years here taking a leap of faith into a new position in a new city.

I wrote about a Trussville native doing big things in the health and wellness world from his Nashville, Tenn., business.

Finally, I wrote about a Hewitt-Trussville High School history teacher, last name Haynes, a name that has been displayed outside a Trussville classroom every year since the early 1950s.

Let me know your favorite and be sure to follow the Cahaba Sun on Facebook. More feature stories are on the way in the near future.
