Second Trussville Bicentennial Celebration event this Saturday

TRUSSVILLE — The second Trussville Bicentennial Celebration event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Trussville Civic Center.

The event will include historical exhibits from local businesses, churches, the Trussville Historical Society and more. There will also be a historic fire truck on display.

Additionally, there will be student performances and an art show. Choirs from Paine Elementary and Hewitt-Trussville Middle schools will perform, as will the middle school band. Hewitt-Trussville High School Theatre students will perform a mini portion of “Legally Blonde.” The high school jazz band will also perform.

ACTA Theatre will perform an excerpt from “Frozen,” and there will also be a 15-minute play containing informative Trussville history titled “Trussville Then and Now.”

Seating is limited in front of the main stage at the civic center, but there is ample seating in the balcony with a great view.

Remaining events are planned for March 14, April 4, May 9 and June 13. Additional information about each of those events will soon be released.
