TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department has its next sergeant.

The Trussville City Council on Tuesday approved Rob Hicks as the next sergeant. His approval comes as a promotion from detective.

Police Chief Eric Rush said that Hicks has been in law enforcement for 18 years, 12 of which have come in Trussville. He’s been a patrol officer, school resource officer and detective.

“He’s done an excellent job,” Rush said.

Hicks has also served in law enforcement at UAB and in Homewood, Rush said.
